Welcome to the forum!
Based on your serial number I would think your revolver was made in the early 80's. Others will be along shortly to set me straight if I'm off.
We cannot pinpoint exactly when it was made because the ATF seized the records when Dan Wesson went out. They are now owned by CZ\USA but they don't have access to those records.
You can contact Dan Wesson for new barrels or look on sites like GunBroker. We also have a classified section here where you might catch one for sell.
Hope this helps! Jody

As Jody said, at this point in time, it's almost impossible to nail down an exact date of manufacture for these guns. Hopefully that will change one day.
However, I will estimate that yours was made a bit earlier. I have a couple questions first...
1) Does yours have a Porkchop style shroud, or the later straight style?
2) Can you show us some pics?
(Porkchop style is on the bottom here)
If you have a straight shroud, your gun is a Model 15-2. My 15-2 is a low 6-digit serial number & according to what I've learned, I believe mine was made sometime in 1978. If yours is a 15-2, then with it being a relatively low 5-digit s/n, I would venture a guess that it was made in the 1976~77 area. That's merely my opinion, so far.
If it's a Porkchop Model 15, then it's 1975 or earlier.

My 15-2 s/n7261x was almost certainly a 1977 manufacture date. If serial # sequence has any validity, yours is a fair amount earlier, and maybe an earlier model than mine.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

These DW's sneak up on you. I've owned one for 30+ years, have more recently added more than I care to count. Frankly, I think they're stalking me. Yeah, that's it, not my fault at all, one more thing to blame on the guns
BTW-I moved this to New Members, and out of Site Issues
