Hello All,
I have my father-in-law's 15-2 SN 17XXXX. From my reading in the forum it is an older production but it it is in relatively good shape. I posted in the scope mount thread about the unknown mount and some scope ring damage. That will be one project so if anyone knows a gunsmith in central Ohio that can drill and tap a shroud please pass on that information. I will also be going through the reloading threads as I want to develop some good loads. Possibly a lighter target load and one suitable for hunting. I am working through old loads of unknown origin and some new loads. This gun seems to like jacked bullets and not cast. 140 and 158 grain are ok at 75 feet but I suspect some of my issues relate to the scope mount damage and scope movement due to that damage.
I look forward to diving into the information here in the forum. Thanks in advance for all the information.

That looks like a Burris or Buel scope mount. They are pretty much identical and have the same mounting hole pattern. Burris was used on the DW Hunter Pacs in the early days. It might be cheaper to get a replacement than to drill and tap for a newer model.
I have both types of mounts that I am will ing to part with if you are interested. PM me and I can send you photos, etc.
