Hello everyone.
I am known as malHunter, and I am new to the forum. Though it would be a good idea to join this forum as a way to learn more about Dan Wesson firearms, and probably get some help identifying my own. I purchased my one and only Dan Wesson revolver about three years ago in a pawn shop. It was in a worse condition than it is at the moment. The barrel shroud screw was stuck, and the back of the barrel was so close to the cylinder, the cylinder was scraping. Got it all to standard and working condition, and of course gave it some well deserved maintenance.
Hope someone knows what this is. I have an idea of what it is, but want to make sure it is.

Welcome to DWF, at a guess that is a 1977-78 Model 14-2 in remarkably good condition. Is it possible that this has been refinished? It looks pretty "black" as opposed to "blue" in your pictures, BUT I think it looks great!
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I think i might had been refinished, since it does look more like a black finish, not bluing. The pictures do make it look better than it is. By the way, this was no photoshop or anything, it was more of the reflection of the flash and lighting somehow covering its "true colors". There is some finish wear around the tip of the barrel. Very light, probably the previous owner taking the revolver in and out of the holster or use wear. There is more finish wear around the cylinder, due to the latch that holds the cylinder in place rubbing it. The front of the cylinder was scratched badly because the previous owner was using it with little to no cylinder gap. When I got it, the barrel and cylinder were rubbing against each other, and the barrel nut was stuck. Used some gun powder solvent to remove the nut, and moved the barrel to .006. Has worked fine for me so far, without a hitch.

That almost looks like a grey parkerize job... as long as she works it doesn't matter what the finish is.SHOOT
That's what it looks like! Couldn't put my finger on it...

To be completely honest, I have used it just a few times in an isolated range (not a shooting range). We would set up plastic bottles at around 25-30 yards and would have no problems popping them with .38 Special full metal jacketed rounds. I was given a few boxes by a neighbor, so I decided to give them a go. I also used a box of .357 Magnum rounds, but we were using a wooden plank we found around as a target (approx. 50 yards), which didn't provide a concise accuracy result because it started to get windy and the plank would constantly move about. Not used to the recoil either, since I tend to use rifles. I do want to go to an actual shooting range to test the accuracy more thoroughly. Also got some splattering paper targets to test it out for further accuracy assessment.

It may be a function of the photo presented, but it looks like that Pack has been refinished. All the surfaces that should be bright blue shiny look matte, which would not be correct for a 15-2 Pack
It does look nice, I kind of like the look actually. $750+ for a good shooting DW Pistol Pack is a real nice deal.
