i recently became the second owner of a Model 12 pistol pack, complete with the original paperwork and the oh so 60s American Tourister brief case. The original sales slip is dated 1972, but there are other indicators suggesting a build date 1970/1971 ish. I hope to resolve this a little more from here.

While not new to shooting, I am new to pistols, up until last year I owned only long guns, primarily shotguns and spent my shooting time turning clay into clay dust.  With a shotgun background I tend to go for more classic designs, although my other recent addition is a Sig 320.  I have two Colt 1911s, a Gold Cup Trophy and National Match, as well as a Wilsonized Beretta 92 inox.  I bought the 12 as it was part of an estate sale and in darn near perfect condition, but for the dust and just plain age. I put half a box of Win 38 spl at 15 yards and put all of it into an 8” IDPA zero circle on its first outing.  I would have shot more and at longer distances but the light was going and I don’t do so well in low light with iron sights.  But hey that’s what red dots are for.  But it’s definitely a wow.

Personally, I’m a cancer survivor, and the recipient of a liver transplant.  My wife and I live on Boston’s  north shore and we are both retired. Besides shooting clays, I’m a saltwater fly fisherman and boater, and I am also building a wooden sailing dinghy in my garage.

Here's a shot with the 4" barrel after my trial run.  I also got the original warranty, user manual, and barrel change instructions.  I have scanned them and will be happy to share the pdf for anyone who is interested. Let me know by PM.  If there is a document archive on the forum, let me know and I will up load the files.

Welcome to the Forum. Looks like some good shooting!

Thanks.  I was really surprised (and pleased) by the results especially since the grip is on the small side and I had to keep adjusting my fingers.

This was with the 4” barrel.  The results with the 2 and 6” while the same in group size but the point of aim and impact are off.  I’m assuming the sights have to be tweaked after barrel change.

Does anyone know if grips made for the model 15 fit the 12?

Hank
