Hello all. Not only am I new here, I'm so new to shooting that I've yet to buy my first HG. Waiting on my permit and hoping I'll be lucky enough to score a VH pack in 22. If I can't find one before the permit expires (90 days with one extension) I'll settle for a 8" or 6" or a S&W 17-3. Looking forward to learning as much as possible.

Welcome to the DWF Sign .  Hope you can find what you are looking for.  I was at the local gun shop yesterday and spotted two DW 44 Mags with 10 inch barrels.  Sometimes you can find DWs at gun show, but not too often.

Unfortunately there's no such thing as a local gun show in the wonderful state of New Jewrsey.

Welcometo the madhouse we call theDWF Sign. A VH 22 pac is about as nice as it gets. I hope you score a nice one. And beware the guys here will be on the hunt to help you along with PDWAS. (pre DWAS)

Welcome torotoro.  I see you are experiencing DWAS already.  You don't just want a DW .22, a rarity, but you want a whole .22 pack which is really rare.

GoodLuck

My first DW and first pistol was a DW .22 with 8"V ( not heavy). They are gold.

I would ride my 175 DT ( dirt/street bike) 20 miles to the nearest range (on the interstate no less).

$2.00 gas money

$2- 3$ in ammo ( 200 to 300 rounds!!)

$5 range fee

$1 for 2 cokes.. cause it was hot as all heck

After two years I was able to drop a 6" iron knock-down plate.... anytime I wanted.

Might not sound like much... but to drop a iron plate with a .22 @ 20 or so yards, you have to hit the extreme top .. about the size of a dime. The fun part was to see how "slowly" I could drop the plate. That is, as you came down from the the very top.. the plate would just barely fall. Bang!.ting.......c.l.a.n.k

Like an idiot,, I figured I needed a REAL gun so I traded even for a DW .357 with a 6"V.

I guarantee I never put 200 rounds through it at a setting... as its just too expensive.

Soap Box, Ballot Box, Ammo Box

in that order.

Welcome to DWF. I assume you can purchase from online auctions, like Gun Broker. If so, maybe buy from an auction once your expiration date comes near. 22/722 Packs are relatively rare, but you will fing a 6" or 8" 22 more readily.

Good Luck

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Well, let's hope I don't use up the 3 piece limit before the expiration date! Just curious, why do you reccomend waiting untill the end is near?

Actually, I'm not recommending you wait, unless you really have your heart set on a Pistol Pack, they show up pretty rarely. I just saw a couple of DW .22's on GB tonite, sometimes there aren't ANY.
