Hi guys, I joined up here almost 6 years ago apparently.
I purchased a really sweet Dan Wesson revolver and was looking for some info about it, and then it ended up in the back of the safe and I completely forgot about it.
Anyway, long story short, I got the idea that I would turn it into a carry gun.
I found it at a local shop (back then) for $160!!!
I stole it for that price, because the guy running the joint expressed a low opinion of Dan Wesson revolvers in general (Big S&W fanboy he was) and he had apparently never looked up what it was worth, which seems crazy, but there it is.
$160 out the door in 2010.
Now I want to buy a 2.5" barrel, a smaller grip, and find an IWB holster for it and start toting the little beast around.
I'll get some more pics in a bit.

Is that an 8 or 10 inch barrel on there? Short shrouds and barrels have been all over ebay lately and grips can be had from ebay, Gun broker etc. I think you'll pay more for the short barrel than you paid for the gun. BUT, since you did a on the gun to begin with, you have some room to play on accessories.
BTW, welcome back.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

8" barrel.
Here's some better pics.
I need to find out what year it's from, just for curiosity.
Story I got was that it was an old farmer's field carry gun, which is why it has so much holster wear. Doesn't appear to have been fired much though.
I've put about 200 rounds through it, and it's scary accurate.
Hoping to find a 2.5" barrel, a small grip, and a nice IWB holster and carry the little beast when it's done.

Welcome Back Home! Here is a blast from the past
That's crazy, darn near six years!
Anybody know what this barrel shroud is? I keep seeing ones with vent ribs, and this one is odd. I think it has a weight in it or something, it's heavy.

That is the "H" shroud. The heavy shroud with no vents is the least common 15-2 shroud. If that is 139xxx it is 1978.
Thanks, so it's 38 years old. That's pretty cool.
I'm looking around in the other forums, seems like I really got a heck of a deal on this thing when I got it. It was really dirty, but it functions flawlessly.
I'm thinking of buying a 2.5 barrel from CZ. Need to find some smaller grips, these Pachmeyer presentation ones are monstrous.

Welcome back. I have become more partial to the non-vented Heavy frame. That's one of the nice things about DWs, easy to change the looks to suit your mood.
You should try the Hogue finger groove rubber grips. Not expensive and probably the most comfortable for everyday shooting. The Hogue wood finger grooves are nice too, but not cheap. Or you could get LB to make one to suit your personal preference.
So many options, so little time!
