Fairly new to the board, I joined in 2015, and then got away from firearms for a few years, put them all in storage. Well until something of interest came along, which promptly was cleaned lightly oiled and tucked away in the safe knowing very well that I would get the itch and head to the range to poke holes in paper. I look at all firearms as pieces of mechanical art with great admiration and respect.
Bought, or should say that my father bought my first handgun when I was 18 which was a single action .357. I started reloading shot shells in 1972, and progressed over the years into a slew of metallic calibers both handgun and rifle, I also do a fair amount of casting mostly to feed the black powder rifles and revolvers. I picked up my DW 15V pistol pac in 1981 had it special ordered for an unbelievable price compared to today's pricing. I've amassed and sold several collections over the years, (regretfully) but never parted with the Dan Wesson. Many years later I obtained a 15 HV figuring it would be a parts gun for the pac, it shoots extremely well so it stays intact. For one reason or another it seems every time I choose any brand or type of firearm the company either closes or stops production. I guess it helps with the value? But I enjoy them any how.
At one point I had ordered a DW 715, but after a year and a half for the dealer to get one in I got my full price deposit back and spent it on other endeavors. It kind of bothered me to see multiple examples on the auction boards for sale and my dealer who didn't seem to desire to search for me.
It's nice to see that there are still those who like wheel-guns and the Dan Wesson line.

Welcome (back)! I think many if not most of us started with Dans via the 357, mainly the 15-2. Where in PA are you located? I'm in the Harrisburg area.
Anything worth doing is worth doing well.
My father
If a man designed it, and a man built it, then a man can fix it.

I too started with a 15-2. I decided to exercise my 2cd Ammendment rights in 2012 after OBummer was reelected and the Newtown shooting had just happened. I bough a half dozen necessary firearms and then saw my first pistol pack in a LGS. By the time I did research and went back it had sold for 900. I found another gun with 6, 8 and 12 VH BAs for $1000. My wife said I spent too much. Of course I knew the 12" BA was worth that alone. Well, I got the world's most severe case of DWAS. Instead of stock, bonds or real estate I bought Dans. I call it industrial art. I have since branched out into Colts, prewar Smiths, Manurhins and others. My mother was a hoarder and I seem to have the DNA. She hoarded junk but my stuff is treasure. Whatever you do, do not look on GunBroker.com.
