You bought the Gary Reader! It was first listed for $3000 6 months or more ago and they finally dropped the price. I was interested but the weird caliber it was in you almost have to reload to use it. That's the GNR I believe. I may be wrong about the reloading. Sure was a nice custom gun Gary Reeder is out of Flagstaff, Arizona and does a lot of custom GNR rounds that was a 41 GNR I think. You may be able to buy ammo direct from him! Shure was a beautiful gun and I think the price was about right! Welcome to the forum!

The cartridge issue was the main reason for me. I don't reload yet. I have stocked up ammo because of that. The other factor is a collectors issue. As beautiful as it is, collectable firearms have have the highest value as they were released by the factory. Any customizing either reduces its value or fails to recoup the money spent on the customizing. If you are a completive shooter or sportsman customization improves the firearm for your purpose.

The modified caliber is why I wasn't interested, and I reload for all my centerfire calibers.
Me three!
Me Four!
This one is such an oddball cartridge which was the main reason I didn't try to snap it up. I hope the gun deal also included brass & dies, which unless I missed it, I didn't see it mentioned in the ad.
Either way, you definitely have snagged a very unique DW revolver...one that most likely would have had 'Ol Dan himself goin' with possibly to boot.
