I recently purchased a Dan Wesson .357 and am trying to determine the model.

I like hunting, fishing and motorcycle riding.

Hello Jim. If you have some pictures, we can probably help you out.

To the paranoid people who check behind shower curtains for murderers:

if you find one...what's your plan?

dwf-welcome aboard!

Yes, somecool-pics would definitely help narrow down which model you have.

Welcome to the forum.  If you don't have any pics of it, you can compare it to some pics on the forum here or browse through the internet.  Should be an easy one to figure out - there aren't that many models.  Start with fixed or adj. sight and go from there.

Welcome to DWF!

There are three pretty clear defining factors to identify a DW .357 Magnum revolver:

1) Straight or Porkchop ("footed") shroud

2) Adjustable or fixed rear sight

3) Blued or stainless

With very few exceptions, these parameters make model ID very easy

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
