Hello folks,
First time on this forum, I need to find my way around, don't want to ask questions that have been answered many times before. Do I just do a search on that topic? I own a Dan Wesson 15 2 Heavy vent .357 with a 4" & 6" barrel. I bought the gun new in the early seventy 1972 I think. Wish I bought the pistol pac who knew. I'm looking to put the 8" barrel on with
some type of optics maybe red dot.
Well my name is Tony, I live in Mass I do have my license to carry, and I do every day.
How is the quality of EWK Arms? I would like to buy my 8" set up from them.
Thanks,
-Tony

Welcome to DWF, we are neighbors I think.
If you bought your Dan Wesson in 1972, it will be a Model 11 or 12, with a porkchop shroud. Your best opportunity for using a longer barrel will be to use the EWK adapter and look for a 15-2 series barrel assembly.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Welcome to the best forum for Dan Wessons. Please share a picture of your Dan. We love to see them and sometimes it will prompt some interesting comments from the many knowledgable members here. Personally I have never had much luck with the search function. It just doesn’t seem to serve up a lot of relevant posts, and I know they are out there. Don’t be shy about asking. Just about everything has been covered at lease twice. And there are a lot of us who wouldn’t mind going over it again.

Stainless barrel assemblies command high prices. $200 is in line with the market these days, and 714 shrouds are far more scarse than 715s so you may have a long search. Good luck.
Anything worth doing is worth doing well.

I am confused. You either have a porkchop and Steve steered you right. They didn't make 8 " shrouds and you can use the new EWK adapter. You will also need a shorter front sight from them. If you have a 714 it is going to be very hard to find a BA. And they will be pricey. Either way, you might just consider buying another Dan, maybe a pack. Hahaha.
