Hello to everyone form Miramar, Florida.  I've been itching to purchase my first 1911, and I finally took the plunge.  I wanted a .45 caliber that I could conceal carry and would be reliable.  My research took me to a couple manufacturers and Dan Wesson was definitely on the short list.

I was in my favorite gun store on Tuesday and came across a new Dan Wesson CCO for $1,219...and I just couldn't say no.  I don't have the cash now, so I dropped $500 and put it on layaway.  Now I just need to come up with some creative financing so my wife doesn't find out how much it really cost Smile

Once I take delivery, I'll definitely post some pics.  I hope to learn a lot about 1911's on this forum (care, maintenance, etc).  I do know I want to put some CT grips...so I'll be looking for a deal soon.

Welcome Pistol Dude! Welcome We have several Florida members here. Congrats on laying that 1911 away...they are awesome guns. but I admit, I STILL don't have one. I'll let the other 1911 owners chime in. They all really enjoy theirs. Lots of good folks here!

Welcome to DWF. We can help with the 1911 basics, and a DW 1911 is a great choice. My next gun plan is either a CBOB or a SuperMag, whichever one comes along first when I have the $$$ (or a Pistol Pack, or that 10mm Pointman, or ... I guess I want it all)

At any rate, congrats on a great choice, good luck on the creative financing

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Welcome  to the DWF Sign

Congrats on an excellent purchase decision.  When the time comes to bring up the cost to your wife, remember the old saying - "it's better to ask for forgiveness then for permission".Big Grin

I have one of the older Dan Wesson 1911 pistols, built before DW came under CZ ownership.  It is a very good quality gun with excellent fit and finish, and is accurate as hell.   sadly, I don't shoot it very often as my DW revolvers usually get the precious range time.

Welcome PD.  You'll find both autoloaders and wheel gunners here and all are committed to DW's products.

It won't be long before DWAS strikes you, then you'll really be looking for explanations for your wife. Smile

Good luck with your new gun, and don't forget that when you get it, we require lots of Cool Pics.

Welcome to theDWF Sign. You may be our first member with a CCO model so I am anxious to here the range report. And of course see some pics.

I agree, I don't think anyone else here has a CCO yet, so I'm interested in hearing about your impressions of the gun, too.

 Welcomeaboard, glad to have ya!Laugh
