Greetings all,
Great forum and info. New Member Thanks. I own multiple firearms including this Dan Wesson. Don't know much about it and have never fired it. Inherited from my father along with several other firearms that I'll likely sell. Can anyone share info on this gun. It is in perfect condition and I'd love to know the history. When bought and who owned. Doesn't look like running a serial number on a firearm with DOJ can tell you anything except if LE runs it.
Then, hypothetically, if you were selling a firearm of this type what reputable place would you go to get a fair price and sell through a bona fide dealer.
Thanks much
Bruce, Folsom Calif.
You have a Model 15-2 VH pistol pack. VH stands for the shroud style. Vented Rib and heavy lug shroud on the barrel. There were 4 extra front sights, a belt buckle, patch and literature that were included. Grips varied. You have a checkered zebra wood grip and a Sacramento style finger groove grip designed by the Sacramento Police Department. A Co. Plete pack would sell for 1700 to 2200 on Gunbroker.com depending on condition and completeness. Perhaps you should gently wash the fabric. Some folks sell the pieces separately. The frame and one barrel on Gunbroker and the extra Barrel Assemblies, grip, tool, sights etc. The zebra wood grip is worth $200 and the case 200 to 350. Reading the forum will tell you how to change barrels, grips, care for it, etc.
Your gun was made in the early to mid 80s.
