Hello to all! I'm Murph, down and dirty, 17 years combined 3 services, DAV. Been collecting for many years now. Just recently found a gentleman selling a group of weapons he had collecting dust. Made offer and bought the lot. See pics. I am here on this site because of the DW W12 Pac set in the lot. I am sure many who saw my earlier replies in the W12 forum, may not have accepted the S/N 3 I have and that's ok cause I was shocked also. So in the pics I have shown the die stamp. If I am incorrect please advise.
Thanks

toThe 3 stamped on the post is not the serial #, it may be in the crane if not on the frame.
The early W12's were stamped on the grip tang, although mine are stamped on the left side. I haven't seen a single digit W12 before, so I suppose that #3 could be the serial number. Here's my two...
Make sure you don't have a number stamped here, under the crane...
Nick, I also notice that your case is incorrect for an early W12. That case came along toward the end of the W12's & early model 15's. The correct case should look like this...
I guess it's possible that it may have been swapped at some point. Congrats on finding your W12 Pac, and thanks for showing it off!

Chargerfan, I have a W12 pac with the black case that looks like Nick's. Do you think these were late runs or perhaps cobbled together?
I'd say yours is likely a late run, especially if yours is deeper into the 4-digit serial numbers. The pic above of the 7400 serial number is from a W12 Pac from a GB auction a few years ago, that was in the same case as yours. They also used the same cases when the model 15 Pacs were introduced.
Thanks Willy, I sure like 'em!
