I thought I had posted this info before, but had trouble with my password etc. so it may not have gone through. I am 67, some days old, some days young, I am retired Navy and did 10 years in the government afterwards (all I could stand).hahahaha. I am widowed, have a g/f, a daughter and a grandson, who knows everything there is to know about life. We are just waiting for him to knock up his g/f and then prove to himself he does NOT know everything about life. another hahahaha (we serious hope that will NOT happen). I am an amature gun collector, buying mostly Colt's, Smith's and Dan Wesson's. I now have four of the latter, a .22, 2 - .357s and the new SuperMag. If you saw last month American Rifleman and on the last page they had a .38 Detectives Special w/o shroud, I have one of those, only in much better condition. It was my late wife's and it is probably one of the nicest in my collection.
I live in South Carolina, kayak and flyfish; oh yes, I buy/sell/trade fly rods. I do leather work and make my own personal holsters and will probably make one for the new SuperMag. I made one for the 6" barrel'd .357 I have and will post it.
Thanks for the welcome to the group.

Tom-
Welcome to DWF, let me begin by thanking you for your Service to America. We eagerly look forward to seeing photos of all your goodies, especially the holsters. It sounds like you have a pretty full life with family and all of your hobbies/pastimes/activities.
Meaning this wholeheartedly, Welcome Aboard
BTW-there's got to be a great story that goes with your screen name selection!
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Tom,
aboard & most definitely, thank you for your service!
Sounds as though you like to keep yourself busy! That's good, it keeps you young. Holster making is something I haven't delved into yet, but it's been in the back of my mind for some time. I may give it a shot one day. If you've got the knack of picture posting down, we'd sure love to see some of your stuff.

Hey Tom:
Welcome to the DWF. 1942 was a very good year. I'll be 67 next month though I only admit to being 29 .

hahahahaha, and getting old'er is NOT for the faint of heart either. Thanks for the welcome

Getting ready to take pictures as we speak, will post them hopefully today; I have one I can't identify, probably someone else can. DW was really thin on putting 'identifying marks' on their firearms. What branch of service? and thank you for yours. Tom
