Hello all,I am looking at purchasing a Dan Wesson 15-2 with 4" barrel. Let me know what to look for and base line value please. Serial # is 198445. All info is appreciated.
As far as Value? I agree that the baseline for for revolver only is $500-600. But, I am about to consign one locally for $900 because that is what the "local market" has been. Will I get it? Who knows?

Thanks for the welcomes and advice. I cant see how to post pics on here yet. Maybe later after we get home from dinner. He is asking $850 for the gun and 194 rounds of .38,around 75 rounds of .357. The ammo is not real important to me. I reload anyway. It is a Monson which I hear is better, buy not sure why.

Well I ended up bringing the 15-2 home. It is in decent shape for its age. Not a safe queen. It has 3 small blemishes that bother me, but I am very picky about my stuff. I love the way it feels in my hand and when it warms up a bit I can test it out. End result was about $530 for just the pistol minus the 194 rounds I got with it. Biggest bugger is on the barrel shield. Any recommendations on where to have that reblued? I have read hot bluing is the way to go, correct?

Call DW or email Keith@cz-usa to see if they still do the factory re-blueing.

On small areas like holster wear I've had excellent results with cold blue.
A couple of things to concider if you go the cold blue route.
Preparation is vital.
De-grease thoroughly,
Buff to remove oxides other than blue in the worn areas so the new blue has some 100% bare metal to work with.
Not all blues work with all metal compositions.
I have 4 kinds of blue on hand & can usually find a hidden but worn area to test with a Q-Tip before taking the plunge.
