Hi All,
I just stumbled across this forum today. What a great find. Well, I failed the first "test", no pics. I'll take a few and get them uploaded in a day or so. I have a 15-2V 6" that I bought in 1977 and was an avid shooter for a number of years. I got away from it due to moving around with the Air Force. Over the last couple of years I regained my interest in firearms. So, here I am. Glad to see there are a lot of DW owners.

Welcome to the Nuthouse. Since you noted the picture expectation right up front, you get a temporary "stay of execution ". You look to be the Original Purchaser of that 15-2, could you please visit our Serial Number Registry (right sidebar, near the top) and help us build the database?
Thanks for your Service, we have a number of your Air Force brothers here.
Steve
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks for the welcome and it was my pleasure to serve. Sorry I'm late in responding, had to go out of town for a day. Here's my pistol. As you can see it's got a little wear on it. I have no doubt it will shoot as well now as when I put it away back in 1985. I'll definitely post in the registry.

Dave-Your timeline is much like mine, a 1977 purchase that brought much pleasure for a number of years, then went into disuse and pretty haphazard storage a good many years. Came out of said storage with beautiful bluing intact, great function, and solid as a rock.
Gave it to my son a couple years ago, and the other night we had a gun cleaning party (he's been overseas for a year), he pulled out the Dan, and said once again how amazing the finish and function is.
Original cost-$169
Value-Priceless

That looks like a great example of DW heritage you've got there. Plus, from the "whistles & bells" standpoint, you picked the right time to buy, when you bought it new. Maybe 6 or 8 months earlier & you wouldn't have had the interchangeable front sight feature, since the '76 guns had pinned front sights.
Thanks for sharing the pic. I bet it will have not forgotten how to send hot lead downrange at a rapid pace!
