Hi I just aquired my first Dan Wesson revolver last week, I was doing some chainsaw work for an older gentleman who had a tree fall on a section of barbed wire fence, I cut the tree and two others into firewood and stacked it and repaired the downed fence. For payment the gentleman gave me his old Dan Wesson in .357mag. I'm very new to them and know pretty much nothing about them beyond the fact of what he told me about them having barrels that can be switched out for different lengths. So needless to say I maybe asking lots of questions.

Hello Kyle and to the ! There are all sorts of threads here loaded with info about your new (to you) Dan. Was your benefactor the original owner? Serial number info with date of purchase is always welcome. The s/n registry (on the right side bar) is waiting for more data. And, as mentioned above, make us happy! .

As soon as I can figure out how to get a picture on here I will get one posted, as for whether or not the gentleman was the original owner I do not know, he said he has had it for years and that if you point it at something you will hit it when you pull the trigger other than that he didn't say much except that he just didn't have the time to shoot it anymore.

Man, for a few hours work, I think you made out pretty well!
That is a model 15-2 VH6. Meaning a 15-2 with a Vent Heavy 6" barrel. Looks like a late 70's Monson gun, if the grips are original. Also, you can turn the medallion straight again by removing grip & pushing it out from the inside with a bent paperclip. Then just reinsert it in straight.
Congrats on landing that one & aboard.
