Well, as my luck would have it, someone in my area dumped a few Dan Wessons on the market. I'd been eyeballing a 15 for a while and just hadn't picked it up. Now I'm sitting on a 15 and a 44...and couldn't be happier with them.
Thanks for all the info. All of you who have contributed have made this DWF newbie quite pleased on the subject material. I just wish there were a way to convince the BATFE to release the serial numbers in association to dates, nothing more. But we all know that's a dead issue.

Thanks, I'm already looking at a .41 Magnum and a .357 Supermag.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks everyone. I made the mistake of posting on a website that I was looking for DW's, seems like there are plenty of them out there, especially in the pistol packs.
Unfortunately for me, those folks tend to know what they have. I have a lead on one, but I'm not sure I can pop $1000 give or take on one just yet...not with the 445 and 357 Supermags calling my name.

Supplies get shorter as does my pocket book. I had to pass on an unfired pack yesterday that was only missing the buckle and the patch priced at $1050. Going to kick myself, but I couldn't come up with enough cash and would have insulted the seller to at $850...he knew what he had thankfully and I wasn't about to try to steal it away.
