Hi, all-
Been reading some of the posts here prior to making a decision to buy a Dan Wesson PM9- which I purchased from a dealer on Gunbroker- and will be picking up from my ffl in about an hour! Can you say - anxious??
Retired Navy ETC, then another 28 years DOD for the Navy as an ATC Systems Tech at Navsta Mayport, FL... retired last year and moved to beautiful Winterport, Maine! Absolutely love it here!
The DM9 will be joining my CZ-75 Shadow Target and Wilson/Beretta 92G, fine 9mm''s are a pleasure to shoot! Currently going through a High Standard Supermatic Citation 107 military model I recently bought, new springs, firing pin, cleanup to replace one I had and treasured in the early '70's, had to sell and have sorely missed ever since. Forums are such an asset to gain/share knowledge!

Welcome to DWF, and thanks for visiting New Members. Two observations:
You moved FROM Florida the anyplace that gets snow? 
You may already know this, but please only use standard velocity .22 lr with a High Standard. They can get frames cracks over time with a steady diet of anything stronger.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Welcome! Glad to have you here from a Active Duty retiree and current DoD employee... however, I opted to live in Louisiana rather than return to Nebraska. Down here, we don't have to shovel sunshine...

Thanks all for the welcomes!! Picked up the DM-9 this afternoon, what a sweetheart of a gun!! The quality of construction reminds me of my S&W 14-2/27-2's quality... the checkering- the grooving all superb quality. Wonderful piece of worksmanship.

Winter schminter...In the past 48-ish hours, I have shoveled at least 26" of the wettest white crap I have seen in two years!
If I never saw another snowflake in my life, I would be ecstatic. Anyone in a "snowless" state who may be up for a straight across house swap of similar value, please inquire within.

Hmmm... isn't even looking like we're going to have a white Christmas here in Winterport, ME this year! Sorry about all your snow there in Utah! Mebbe' you can find a Florida member who wants out!! (Not too many of 'em, though... I think I was one of the few!)
But watch out fer' the snakes, spiders, alligators, hurricanes and traffic if you move to Florida!
