Hello fellow Dan Wesson owners.

I joined back in May when I picked up a new to me 15-2 VH .357 with 8-3/8" barrel. I have since put a 4" barrel/slab shroud assembly on from EWK. I love the look and feel with either barrel/shroud combo, but the 4" slab shroud is just so darn cool.

The pistol is in excellent condition and shoots straight. My only complaint is the trigger sticks back most of the time. I plan on addressing it in another section here on the forum. I did SHOOTIST357's Average Joe Tune Up and replaced springs to no avail. I picked up a new Trigger and Strut from Numerich and that has really helped quite a bit, but the problem is still there. Regardless, I love this revolver...I am confident I can get her running right. If I cant do the job I have a gunsmith who owes me tune up/favor.

Anyhoo, this site is great, and it has been very helpful. So, thanks to all who have offered their expertise.

You will be asked for KEWL pics shortly. I don't know how to do that smiley thing or I would have done it . I don't have a great amount knowledge but it sounds the trigger return spring is not engaging. Help will arrive soon .

Hello Mowtown from Cowtown (well close to it). You are in my old stomping grounds. Welcome to the forum. You will be amazed what the Average Joe tune up will do for your 15-2.

I'm just going to warn you, this group is gonna want to see....cool-pics

Glad that you finally stepped out of the dark!  But as Bruce eluded, someone was going to say it, so it might as well be me; post-pics.

Welcome, Ron

Welcome to DWF!

I see that you are not on the Forum at this moment, I'm sure you are watching the bottom of the first in the Tigers/DeadSox game.

I am a Michigander by birth and a "Detroiter" at heart, but I wouldn't live IN Detroit for any amount of $$$ these days.

Good luck with the 15-2, if the AJT helped, my guess is that there is a little more polishing, smoothing, fitting needed.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Tried to post pics, but think maybe I need a higher post count per forum rules. Links below are of my DW with both original and ewk barrels.

Edit: Not the best quality pics. Taken from crappy phone...sorry. I'll take better pics with my DSLR soon.

The trigger return spring may be slipping between the hand and the transfer bar. Dry the parts off and make sure the end of the spring doesn't slip while you put the sideplate on.

Thanks Ole Dog. I will try that this weekend. I'll be in the woods for three days so finding time to shoot shouldn't be a problem.

Can't wait until LB starts taking orders again so I can get some walnut Grippers. My vision when I bought this revolver was to have the slab 4" assembly, walnut grips, and a nice leather western style holster with a cartridge belt for carrying at our camp. Still havent found a western style holster that will fit the slab shroud though.

I took the liberty of posting your images for you, hope you don't mind. Copy the image url from where you have them stored and then click the litte tree icon on the new post and paste in the url when you want to add more pictures.

You'll probably end up having to have a custom holster made up for the slab side.
