Hello to all. Just signed on after researching all 200 plus pages of the revolver section. ( Over a period of time ) Though I purchased a 14-1 I have lusted for some time over a Guardian in 9mm. Probably one sometime in my future.
My interest in handguns is rather eclectic. I am not a collector and seem to like to take the path least traveled. Nothing I own ( which is not a whole lot ) resides hidden away unused, though definitely never abused.
Presently I own a Walther P99 in 9mm which I would say is the work horse of my small stable. I own one other semi auto which is a Beretta model 1935. I acquired it after selling a Walther PPK/S that I just could not refuse what I was offered for it. ( had 1500 rounds of 7.65 Browning that needed a pistol ) The Beretta has turned out to be a very reliable and well built pistol that has help steer me towards all metal construction. It has really grown on me.
Everyone needs a .22. Mine is a 3 inch barrel aluminum frame 9 shot built in 1955. A High Standard Sentinel R100 which IMO is another one of those wonderful finds you come across when taking the path less traveled. It has found a permanent home.
So that brings me to my Dan Wesson. OK, I have to be truthful. It is a High Standard Sentinel MK11. The little Sentinel .22 just had to have a family member ( in name at least ) to keep it company. Though I have been wanting a Dan esson Revolver for some time irredardless of owning the Sentinel in .22.
Sorry, no photo's as living in NewYorkistan I have to wait for my county permitting officer to send me a "get firearm out of jail card" before I am allowed to take possession. Though i am within reasonable driving distance of Norwich. That is a plus. I left on the First of the month for a winter in Florida before my permission slip arrived so the Revolver resides with the FFL until lI return home.
Looking forward to my time here.

Welcome and glad you have the first of your Dan collection. You will have more. The MK II will accept DW BA's. EWK makes adapters so you can use 15-2 and 14-2 BA's. I would us a 15-2 as you might have point of aim problems and the interchangable sight feature may be the solution. I mention this because High Standard never marketed extra Barrel Assemblies. You got one with the gun so consequently extras are rare. Also the barrel tubes on a 14,15,14-1 and 15-1 are 1/4" shorter.
Where do you winter in FL. I am in Ocala but we are everywhere.

Thanks for the Info. I have learned a lot from researching the forum over the last six months. I will be searching while I am in Florida for a shorter BA option. If you know of any good DW supplies in Florida please let me know.
We are in Ormond by the Sea until the end of Feb. Then we are witout a home as it is too early to head north. I am working on it though.

Ummm, if your latest acquisition is truly a MKII (Mark2), it will be a.357 Magnum, not a .22 caliber. The MKII & MKIII are the only two to have been affiliated with DW.
Here is my MK II, for example...
And here with it's adjustable sight brother, the MK III, in my custom built case...
Finding an extra BA for one of these will be a huge feat...maybe not impossible, but very nearly.

Yes it is a Dan Wesson manufactured .357 marked High Standard MK11. I also own a High Standard .22 revolver. Perhaps something I posted caused some confusion.
My MK11 looks like yours. I know that a 2.5 inch BA marked "High Standard" is likely impossible. I will be delighted if I can find a DW Model 14 "pork chop" or even a model 15 pork chop for my frame. I realize that with the model 15 I will need to change the sight.
Last resort would be a later style BA with the EWK adapter. I am not sure how that would effect barrel length. One of the things I like about the High Standard is the slightly shorter than 4 inch barrel length. I have a thing for 3 inch barrels in revolvers. I am not really worried about the barrel as I can always get a barrel made. In fact I like the fact that the EWK barrels have the faster 1:12 twist rate.
I have some other plans for the revolver as well, but that is a subject to approach a little further down the road.
The 2.5 inch shroud is first order of business.
By the way, I enjoyed reading some of your old posts on the High Standards when I was searching the forum.
