Grrrr... well, went to pick up DW tonight after getting the approval for my permit and once again - BATF "delayed" me!! Seems to happen everytime I get a new gun - handgun or rifle doesn't matter.
Guy in the store says that there may be a person with similar name that triggers the delay and there is not much I can do about it. Anybody have any info on this? I'm fully legal - no run ins with the legal system, barely a vehicle ticket (did have a no-inspection about 5 yrs ago but that's it!)
Have to wait until next Friday 1/21 - 7 full days.
As noted this happens all the time, then after the wait go pick up with no problem. In another shop last weekend and a younger guy bought a CZ shotgun and walked out with it???
So, trying to do everything right and it takes 2 weeks to buy a .22. I envy you guys in the friendly states.

Don't feel 2 bad, on the fence. I have a ccw for all 50 states, been approved 6 six times in the last five months and was delayed for 1 week on my 7th purchase last month. I live in the friendiest state of all NEVADA. I called the people that do the back round checks after I had been cleared, and they said that they couldn't give me any information, that once I was cleared
everything was shredded
and we pay $25 each time we purchase a gun
go figure

I've transferred 229 guns to my personal collection over the past 3 years and have NEVER had a problem or delay. I have purchased rifles and shotguns in WV and VA while I waited at the counter for the call in. FLA has a 3 day wait, but that is a state law. I'm even getting Class III transfers and stamps in 5-6 weeks. I don't know what you guys are doing wrong. Maybe NV isn't as friendly as you think.

I am always a "deny" in the online authorization here in CT. Then the dealer needs to call in for an approval, which adds (fortunately) only about 10 minutes to the process. My son pretty consistently had the same problem in TX, as I recall.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

SHE'S HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Even all the regs couldn't stop me. Picked er up last night and can't wait to shoot. Got some "honey do" tasks to get done this weekend (tile the bathroom) - which I better finish since she is just getting over another addition to the safe. But might sneak over to the range for a little while - even though it's ZERO * outside right now!!!
Now gotta look for some add ons.... 4"bbl, grips, scope mount or red dot????
I'm officially a DW Owner.

Excellent post. I was always checking this blog, and I’m impressed! Extremely useful info specially the last part, I care for such information a lot.I was exploring this particular info for a long time.
I often make some gun parts, gun metal parts usually have some special properties, so they are usually made of special alloys, the manufacturing cycle of gun parts is very long, which is mainly limited by the level of craftsmanship, gun parts need to be precision machined and surface treated, some parts are made by MIM process to ensure their accuracy and reliability.

DONE!!!!! Got the receipt for the Judge and excited to pick 'er up. $297 OTD I figure is pretty good for the condition - no box or wrench like I figured but it seems like the parts and barrels are pretty easy to come by.Gun is in real nice shape and will hopefully be a shooter.
You guys in "friendly" gun states make me envious with the easy rules but the saving grace is I get to pay the most taxes!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That helps pay for all the crappy laws.
Sad part is there are a lot of beautiful parts of NY. We have a camp in the Adirondack mountains on Lake Champlain that is fantastic. Oh well, enough complaining. In 10 yrs or so I can look at other places to call home.
Gotta say the site is better than most - I belong to a bunch of other gun forums but have never received as good a welcome as here.
I know what's gonna happen..now I'll be on the hunt for other DW's when visiting the gun stores and shows. For now concentrate on getting this one fitted up and tuned, maybe make a new set of grips in the shop and see what she will do at the range.
Cool thing is I now have a 2" (SW Model 63), 4" (SW 34), and 6" DW. Plan on taking the wife and a girl from work that wants to learn to shoot and letting them try them out. Wife's favorite now is the 63 but she hasn't tried the others (yet). I love .22's.
So, there it is, I'm infected! Drank the Kool Aid. Back to reading up on DW and will post pics when she is home. Will have to figure out how to do that.
Thanks for the encouragement and I'll let you know if I end up on the couch!

You can still buy barrel shroud assemblies from Dan Wesson CZ-USA for it. 2.5"-10"
They have a webstore:
https://shop.cz-usa.com/dw-products/revolver/barrels-shrouds/22-lr.html
If not in stock, you can still order and wait up to 90 days
