EDIT: Sorry again for the typo in the topic name, I really need to pay more attention.
{Edited by Jody: I have my share of typos! I have fixed your topic name.}
Howdy folks I am a shooting enthusiast from Texas, I recently got a .357 mag with a 6" barrel made in 83 and am eager to take it to the range. I am looking forward to learning from all you folks here.

to the .
I found my way here the same way. Bought a 15-2 Pac & decided I'd better find out what I had & if I did good. I already had a 44 that I got years before, but I was not a regular on the internet back then.
You'll find lots of great info and advice here. If your Dan has not been fired in a long time, or even if it has, it's a good idea to disassemble and do a deep clean & lubricate. You might be surprised at the crud inside. Check out the thread "Tuning your 15-2 -- The Average Joe Method" on the Reloading & Gunsmithing page. It's a great guide for stripping and reassembly, even if you don't want to do any "smoothing" on your action.
Feel free to shoot first & strip after.
All my Dans worked well without stripping first. It's hard to defer the fun.

Here is what I bought on the 4th of July.
Here are some pics of it
I got it for 350 off armslist
I just ordered a barrel wrench for it and gauge kit from EWK
I was told it was made in 83 and purchased in 84, that means it is older than me, I am a young.
