Hello,

Thought I would give a shout out as a new member.  I lurked here for a short while about 4 years ago when I came down with "DWAS", as you members call this collecting habit.

I shot my first Dan Wesson, a SS 357 MAG with a scope on it, about 20 years ago.  A friend of mine owned it and let me put several rounds through it at the range.  That gun really impressed me and I thought if I were to get "into" guns (disposable income issue at the time, isn't it always), I would love to have one like it.  Fast forward several years and now I have a small collection that I enjoy putting rounds through when I have the chance.

I'm also into muscle cars (restored a few over the years) and motorcycles (riding and modifying).

Well, enough for now.

Mike

Uh, Guns, Musclecars, Motorcycles?

Somehow, I think you fit in just fine.

Only one problem, we need to see some pictures of Guns, Musclecars, Motorcycles

drool

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Thanks for all of the welcome greetings.  This may not be the correct forum to post kewl pics in, but I'll put up these sorta kewl pics here since they are quickie cell phone pics.  When you guys asked for pics, I realized that I have never taken any, so here they are.  Cars and bikes will come later.

The SM's, a 7445 10VH, 375 8V (don't know what the designation is for the slots), 357 8V.

 tf7Rjn3s.jpgImage Enlarger

This is the one that started it.  357 Mini Pak.  Did they make the Mini Pak in 357?  The remnants of the serial tag are on the case, but nothing that identifies the original contents.  The other barrels have been slowly added over time.

V2GRjn3s.jpg

32 H&R MAG Pistol Pak

 6RPRjn3s.jpg

The rest.  A 357 8VH, this was a bonus that came with the 12" barrel in the other pic.  This may qualify for my GTDW.  The title for the ad only stated a 357 with 8" barrel.  If you opened the ad, you then found out it included the 12VH barrel also.  There wasn't much activity on the auction and considering what 12VH's have gone for recently, the gun cost me very little.

Also a 741 10V, 44 8VH and a 45 4VH.

I have been fortunate to get the boxes with most of the sundry items for all of the non PP guns, just no original sales paperwork that could date the serial numbers.  Hope you enjoy the pics, I sure enjoy putting some rounds through these when I have the chance.

Regards,

Mike

Wow, ms. miller, that's an awful fine collection. Did you mean to imply you don't have DWAS, just a little collecting going on? A rose by any other name is still a rose. Great Guns. Welcome.

Ole Dog,

Until I came back to DWF, I didn't realize that there was an official term for my somewhat obsessive collecting.  My original intention was just to get a nice 357 like what my friend had.  I knew DW's were nice, quality guns, but after researching about them I just got carried away.

Anyway, thanks for the comp, have a beverage of your choice on me!

Mike

Thanks Mike, Will so. I went from zero  to ten in nine months. Still learning tech. Can't post pictures yet. Just got .45lc like your 4"vh but 6". And my first 715. I am holding off on supermags till I load. Just wish I could shoot better. Still a beginner.

Me too!laugh We have an old motorcycle thread here that you're welcome to bump with pics of yours if you'd like... https://www.danwessonforum.com/forum/general-messages/motorcyclesdo-you-ride/

However, please don't post huge pics, some of us have old (slow) computers. A more "forum friendly" photo size is 800 or less.

Your DW collection is very impressive, thanks for showing them off!drool

Sorry about the pic size.  I thought that I saw in the image upload dialog that images were size unlimited and media size was limited.  Anyway, I will edit images on all future uploads.

Ole Dog, WOW - 0 to 10 in nine months.  That's a serious acquisition spree!   cool

Yeah, I'm just an average at best shooter.  For me, it's not so much of trying to get a good group (although I wouldn't mind it!), it's just something about shooting that's so satisfying to the soul.

Linejudgemick, whether it's a collection of one or two dozen, I think it's great that these are finding their way into the hands of people that appreciate and still use/enjoy them.
