A buddy of mine gifted me a DW 45 long colt with a 10" barrel. He said if I get a 6" 44mag barrel I can shoot 44mag from it. Is that true?
If you could thread a .44 barrel to fit the 45 frame, you still have to contend with chamber dimensions. You would surely rupture the .44 case and may cause damage to the gun itself. I don't think you'd get a bullet to enter the throat correctly and the projectile would get shaved at least and may cause damage at worst. Bad idea all the way around without getting a .44 cylinder and timing it. Might as well just pick up a DW .44.... PS: I'd probably trade ya.... Oh!- and welcome to the DWF!

The one on GB looks like it was used as a fencing tool LOL. It would make a great donor gun for a cool refinish project though.
George860 - As the other before mentioned, you could probably sell the 45-Colt and yield enough to purchase two more common Dan's with.
