That is a 722M (Stainless 22 Magnum). What is your question on price? Looking to buy, or want to assess value on something you own?
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

The 22 mag guns, either stainless or blue, are uncommon and don't show up often. If you have the factory box with label attached and the barrel tools and paper work, and the gun is in excellent condition, then a fair auction value will be between $1000 to $1500. Your area of the country, time of year, condition and how badly somebody wants it, will all affect value.
Nice gun by the way. If you like Dan's and seeing that it was your fathers', it would make a nice addition or start to a collection. If it belonged to my dad, I'd never sell it, too much sentimental value to put a price tag on. JMHO

I have none of the extras you mentioned. I don't plan to sell, but to pass it to my boys.
I got this and a nice Thompson 1911 from Dad. The Thompson has been worked by a gunsmith and is a very smooth shooter. My youngest used it for his CLEET qual.
Thank you much for your insight.

Nice revolver to have obtained. I had a 22 mag in a Ruger single action years ago that would periodically split cases. The cause ended up being an oversized chamber in some of the cylinder, Ruger replaced it. It could be something similar you are dealing with. maybe note the cylinders and see if the splits commonly come from the same locations, that would be a start to identifying if it is the gun or ammo.
