Back in late 1970's went to work for a private security company and had a choice of carrying one of their beat up S&W or getting my own. Picked up a 4 inch DWA Model 14-1 as I wanted a basic weapon. PPut a set of Pachmayr grips on it. If I remember correctly it was in a blue box and serial number was 39533. Good solid gun. Put a Bullseye spring kit in it which dropped my SA pull to about 2 lbs. Carried it as a duty weapon when I went to Motorola Security. About 3-5 yrs later, NRA had a convention and I bumped into a DWA rep and asked about getting a 2 in bbl. Had an FFL by now and about 6 months later got a call from him saying he found one in the warehouse. When I got it, it was a heavy barrel and I put it on. That revolver was the meanest looking thing I had seen in a while with the short barrel. and hollow points in the cylinder. Carried it when I was assigned to the command post. We parted company about 1988, but as you can tell, I still have fond memories of it.
