Hi, I'm Alex.
I've wanted a Dan Wesson 357 for quite a while, my dad has had one for as long as I can remember.
So when one showed up at my local gun shop, I snapped it up.
It's a 885xx 15-2, Pachmayr presentation grip and 6" barrel, with a finish that has "plumed". I think it is from the late seventies.
I plan on getting a different grip and a 2" barrel for it as well.
The top one is mine, the lower is my dads.

How ya do'in Alex? to. Dad had good taste and looks like he passed it that taste on to you. Good looking Dan. You won't be disappointed in it. The best revolver ever produced, IMHO. I'd guess, 5 digit serial and replaceable front sight, would be late 76' or early 77'. Did you get the barrel wrench and gap gauge as well?
Let us know how she handles on the range..

All I got was the gun as pictured, my father has the barrel tool that came with his.
We checked the gap and tightness before we went out shooting, all was well. It shoots nice, good accuracy.
Thank you guys for the welcome.
However, the trigger does fail to reset sometimes (sticks back, springs forward when you push it forward). I cleaned up all the parts and adjusted the over-travel screw, but it still does it. I'll try the screw some more, but it seems like the arm that moves the cylinder hangs up, if it sticks, and you loosen the top screw on the side plate, it resets. It also doesn't do it with the side plate off. I'll look into it more when I get some days off.

Hey Warpwar, I think it is possible to get the side plate screws too tight, but I would also check the over-travel screw in the trigger. Might help to back it out a bit more at a time to see if that will cure the issue. Would also, highly recommend the
Average Joe Tune-up thread located in the reloading, gunsmithing and grip making forum. Very worthwhile process and quite simple.
