Folks Brad just joined our group but for some reason his post would not sumbit. Brad if you continue to have issues please let me know. Here is the welcome message he sent to the Admiin email address:
My name is Brad and I am from California but in about a year I am getting the He** out of this fantasyland and moving to my 40 acre ranch in New Mexico. I have recently renewed my interest in guns and particularly Dan Wesson. I have a 744-VH8 stainless steel rib vent that is brand new, never been shot and still in the factory shipping box.
This gun is a replacement for the same model I had which was stolen that I had used heavily for silhouette shooting and promptly bought with the insurance money but never shot after that. I cannot remember when I bought it. The label on the original Styrofoam case says "Wesson Firearms Co., Inc. Palmer, MA" and "Proudly Made In The USA". Does that help identify when I may have purchased it? It was over 15 years ago I am sure.
Regardless it was the finest gun I ever shot and accurate beyond description. In my research I came upon this forum. I also discovered in my Google search that Dan Wesson had been purchased by CZ-USA and I am glad they have brought it back. It is interesting their spokesperson is Irlene Mandrell, what a woman!
