That one certainly went for a goodly sum. I would say that it's not worth much more than that and once you start bidding, well...
However, the fact that the gun is all Monson does raise it's value. Not much out there for sale with Monson rollmarks anymore. And then there's also the Pachmyer grip with the DW medallion; I guess that adds some value too.
When you do get started on your Pak, both 4-inch and 10-inch barrel assemblies are also occasionally available as well. The 10-inch BA's were not ported. There was no factory made 2.5 inch BA for the 744. Watch eBay as well as GB for BA's.

Still on the hunt for a 744, I missed out on one about a week ago that sold for a reasonable price while I was at work flying (forgot to bid when I left for work). Still have hopes that another will come up for sale soon!
