I purchased my first Dan Wesson early 1980's - 357 Mag in blue, 6" barrel. I then purchased a 44 Mag in SS, 6" barrel. I started using the 44 Mag to shoot bowling pins in the early 1990's going to the Second Chance Pin Shoot in Central Lake, MI for several years. During that time I picked up another used 44 Mag in blue, 6" barrel as a backup gun for the pin shoots. I was the only one there shooting a Dan Wesson. The guys in my shooting club call it the farm implement since it is larger than the S&W's they use. Over the years one thing has remained constant. The guns shoot!
Richard Davis (inventor of body armor and sponsor of the pin shoots in Central Lake) started the Pin Shoot back up again last year after 18 years of no events. Well, I am still the only one shooting a Dan Wesson at The Pin Shoot, and the gun still shoots. I am now looking to add some modifications to at least one of the pistols changing the 6" barrel out for a barrel under 4" to use in a concealed carry side event at the shoot. I have discovered the EWK site and have sent in a message to Eric to see if he can make a 3.5" barrel for either the 357 or the 44 or both.
