HOLY CRAP!
Well that blows a big hole in the story that 414's were only made in Palmer & Norwich. Steve & Freerider's #1 445 AGS is pretty darn cool in it's own right, but you sure raised the bar with this one, I tell ya!
BTW, do you think it's sinful to covet another man's SuperMag? 'Cuz I'm pretty sure I have a slight greenish-hue of sinful envy goin' on this morning. LOL!

CF, I'm right there with you!
Jaggman I'm afraid at this point you have received the ultimate high as a Dan Wesson Accumulator! The downside to that is that I doubt you will ever feel the same rush again and that makes me sad for you.
Seriously awesome awesome find!

Does that serial number go like this EXP-414-1 and does that mean
Experimental 414 #1???
Mox,
Yes, it is the first one made when the 414 was developed. I didn't know about the Monson thing until I connected with the seller. And I don't know if anymore were made with that s/n series, but I'll try to find out.
It sure is an exciting time here in PA for me. SMF got to see it today at his range but we didn't shoot it..........no ammo yet.

I have to add. The blueing on that Gun in the photo's above, is just as deep in real life as the pictures. I think one of the neat things is that the gun's 414-V8S was handwritten on the brown case, so they had not even labeled it at the time. IMHO, this is the find beyond all finds in the collecting of DW's. Jaggman, you are Da Man! Thank you for bring ing it along yesterday to the great time at the range.

I must emphatically agree!
Of course you know, that just the mere fact that you were able to find and land something like this, will only serve to "dangle the proverbial carrot" in front of the noses of the rest of us hungry DW collectors.
Seriously though, this is one fantastic find. I'm glad you were able to get it & share with the rest of us. If for no other reason than to place yet another missing piece in the puzzle of DW history.
