Calderon Lectures the U.S. On Border Criminals and Border Crime
This week Texas U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R) took exception to the 40-minute speech by President Calderon of Mexico. Calderon stated in a joint message to the U.S. Congress that the drug cartel killings coincided with Congress lifting the assault weapon ban in 2004. How a flash supressor or a bayonet lug could impact their current crime spree was not discussed.
Also, not mentioned was how many of the 75,000 firearms seized over the past three years had come from the Mexican military or law enforcement? Calderon did say that 80% of traceable weapons were traced to the U.S. What comes from South or Central American countries?
Any American traveling along the Texas-Mexico border over the pas decade would have seen billboards reminding U.S. citizens traveling into Mexico not to get caught with so-much as a shotgun shell in their trunk and everyone has a story of a friend whose family spent 10's of thousands of dollars to bring them home from a Mexican prison after such an event occured.
One has to wonder how the "one-shotgun-shell" of the honest U.S. citizen can be found and 75,000 cartel-bound guns missed over those same border bridges and who and on what side of the river was paid off?
So, will the U.S. government cave-in and sacrifice your rights and to criminals or to a historically corrupt and inefficient govenment in a foreign country?
Thank you, Sentor Cornyn for saying that the Second Amendment is not a subject open for diplomatic negotiation with Mexico or any other nation!
TSRA Members, need to thank Senator Corny and Senator Hutchison and remind your U.S. House of Representative that the November Elections loom large on the horizon and YOU are paying close attention!

I'm glad someone is willing to set the record straight.
Man, that's for sure! These days, far too many of the "talking heads" in the senate seem to be merely voting by whichever way the wind blows that particular day. I surely hope that this November will be a true "Scraping of the barnacles", like we've needed for soooo…ooo…ooo…LONG!!
