Below is an email I received from the VCDL.  Please contact your senators!

ACTION ITEMS BELOW.

South Dakota Senator John Thune's amendment to the defense  authorization bill, which requires inter-state recognition of  concealed carry licenses, is causing a furor among the antis.

Anti-gun activists with family links to Virginia Tech, arrogantly  presuming to speak for the entire community by calling themselves “the  Virginia Tech Families,”  published a notice in the Richmond Times- Dispatch today asking Senators Warner and Webb to not support the  amendment.  Turns out that New York Mayor Bloomberg is behind that effort.  Gee, what a surprise.

New York Senator Chuck Schumer must be really having an Excedrin headache about now.  He has vowed to filibuster the amendment.  Hmmm - he does have the ability to talk for a long time and say nothing, so that might be a real threat.

We need to make sure their anti-gun/anti-self-defense message is  drowned out.

Articles on the amendment:

CBS News bedwetting:

Washington Post teeth chattering:

Newsday nail biting:

Here is the bill's full wording.  The amendment, published here in full, would also allow someone with a non-resident permit  to carry in any state which issues a permit or license:

ACTION ITEM:

If you haven't contacted Senators Webb and Warner to support the amendment, now is the time to do so.  We need to drown out the self-defense haters:

Let's roll!

After you have contacted your senators above, here is a poll that you can vote on (about 1/3 the way down):

How about that...out of 2802 votes so far, 95% are in favor of states honoring other state's CC permits. Yet, somehow the anti's still are allowed to steamroll their agenda's forward.Screwy

CF,

I like STEAMROLL, lets steamroll the anti's, it might last longer than asphalt Laugh.  Seriously, we all need to continue tha letter writing, phone calling, VOTING and every other means we have to get the word out ALL the time.  I do not agree with a thing our senator Robert Casey stands for, I also write him to let him know it quite frequently.

Measure failed to pass by two votes (58-39). And just whom do you suppose the Commie News Network quotes for the "against" voice, Bloomberg. He said, "We can't have all these guns, and it's reasonable to have each state make their own laws." So, what was that document that said something about rights not being infringed.... hmmm

I wonder what kind of glee-fest they'll be having on MS-DNC this afternoon.

Rant, rant....shooting
