Mister  Callan is right.  This is not over. The administration  ran afoul of the Administrative Procedures  Act by not publicizing the comment hearing and enacting the rule too soon. They also published the rule in their rules which required a couple of months  lead time. It was prima facia evidence of them not following the law and a judge would have summarily  ruled against them. Expect them to try again. They could care less about the overwhelming comments against it. One year and 10 months and the long national  nightmare could be over. My wife says I am a glass half full kind of guy.

I sure hope you're right ole dog, but I am afraid it won't be. This fool could inact the NDAA and we will have him for a while. It is truth when you say this is not over. year and a half could turn this country into a third world sort of place. Every American Patriot needs to remain vigilant.

I got an email from the NRA saying that they succeeded in defeating this; for now.

I think the NRA and about 80,000 individuals. They might have helped a little.

It's not over yet, I just read where ATF is now concerned about ALL AR-15 ammo since it can be used in a 'hand gun'.  Sounds to  me like ATF just raised the stakes and is taking aim at banning all 223/5.56 ammo.  We'll see.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

We all know that this will never be over.

Quite true every long gun round can be made to work in a pistol and all can defeat soft body armor. Therefore it can be band for the same reason. All firearm laws should be removed from the books, and the laws governing the criminal act enforced. Ok, stepping down off my soap box now. Sorry back to Mr. Wessons wonderful machine.

this came in today!

ATF has announced that it will not move forward with its proposed framework to ban commonplace 5.56 M855 "green tip" ammunition at this time and will review the record number (more than 80,000) comments it has received so far. ATF will continue to accept comments through March 16. NSSF encourages target shooters, hunters and gun owners to contact your Member of Congress AND the ATF to oppose this unnecessary ban. Read more about ATF's decision from NSSF.
