hmm...  I'm going to guess that bill will be defeated.

I'm just wondering how many criminals will stop using .45 caliber pistols if it were to become illegal???

And I quote from the linked article:

"There are no obvious or justifiable reasons for one to own or use semi-automatic handgun ammunition of that caliber, if 9mm and .40 S&W rounds are sufficient for our police force to protect us with, they are sufficient for any private citizen’s personal protection."

What about 10 mm?

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

This is the reasoning that just scares me spitless:

"Joshua Lancaster, a spokesperson from the office of Governor Jerry Brown, made the following statement to the press, “The time to make clear cut changes surrounding our current gun laws is here. The ban on this unnecessary ammunition is a major step towards a safer society for our children. There are no obvious or justifiable reasons for one to own or use semi-automatic handgun ammunition of that caliber, if 9mm and .40 S&W rounds are sufficient for our police force to protect us with, they are sufficient for any private citizen’s personal protection."

To the paranoid people who check behind shower curtains for murderers:

if you find one...what's your plan?

This is pure BUNK. No such ban was passed. Even in CA, that would be a tough sell. The web sight that reported it is a satirical news sight.rofl

I've not seen anything on this.  .45 ACP is still on the shelves.  Even if our People's Republik of Kalifonia does ban it, it'll get overturned in the SCOTUS. They never stop trying.  It's like cutting the grass, it just keeps on coming and you have to mow it down.

The real NY Times website does not use a Colombian domain name.    That site is a fake.

There is nothing on the CA DOJ website either - if it was pending or passed legislation it would be on there.

I believe it is myth at this point.
