We have had a couple of discussions lately on Gun Laws in my home state, Connecticut, a "focus" state due to the very repressive legislation.

To help understand what occurs in other states, check http://www.handgunlaw.us/ for more info.

And feel free to share your experience

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Things seem to be going in the opposite direction here in Mitchigan. The CPL's are shall issue now. There are repeated attempts at unlimited location carry w/CPL. Each time the legislature proposes a new change to existing law that loosens restrictions it further results in a compromise towards more relaxation. The State Police really don't want to give up their historic authority.

Now a person with a CPL can carry and use a civilian Tazer in locations prohibited for "concealed" firearms. Mitchigan is also a "open carry" state and there is or was a loop hole you could open carry in places you can't carry concealed. This is one of the points of compromise.

As of now things 2nd amendment wise are gaining here.

The weakest point and the hardest to defend are the semi auto "military style rifles" w/ hi-cap magazines.

Endeavor to persevere,
Press on regardless.

I have mentioned before I believe Pennsylvania is a great state to reside in gunwise.

Any resident has the right to acquire a carry permit, as long as they pass the required background check. Wait time is usually I think a couple weeks. They even now have a photo system, and you receive a card similar in quality to a driver's license. I do not know the cost, but it is around $30 or so I think and they are renewable every 5 years.

The downside to living in PA is that we are nearly surrounded by states that do not recognize permit reciprocity.

PA has instant background checks for buying firearms, no waiting periods.

   No stupid magazine restrictions etc.

Unfortunately PA always goes to the democrats in presidential elections, swayed by Philadelphia and a couple other scabs on an otherwise beautiful state. No offense to any gun owning Philadelphians intended.
