So the news this morning is that Barack is claiming executive privilege to prevent the disclosure of Fast and Furious documents.  Which raises the question in my mind "How does a President claim executive privilege over documents that supposedly never went to or came from the White House?"  I have trouble understanding how Barack isn't ordering the release of these documents since he swore an oath to uphold laws enacted by Congress and it certainly looks like the Justice Dpt broke the law lot approving/coercing/ordering the sale of guns to suspected gun-runners.  I know I'm preaching to the choir here but this is ridiculous.

Your mistake is expecting the Commander in Thief to obey the law and act with integrity.

The Face Book President will only answer to the polls, his Hollywood friends, and the suck up mainstream media.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

If he wins this election, my prediction is that this will be the last election.  I have been growing ever more confident of this and have many aquaintances that also subscribe to it..  The start of this thread just helps back it up...

I understand this feeling, I don't expect or believe that this will come to pass.

If this occurred, the American Revolutionary War would become the "First" American Revolutionary War. Americans booted out a King once before...

I agree.  I have said since the beginning of this administration that if he gets re-elected, he will find some reason to declare martial law and have himself declared president for life.

This is absolutely the most frightening individual in government at this time.

Say your prayers and vote.

I hope you're right Steve but don't hold your breath.

What I don't understand is that after swearing to uphold and defend the constitution, he is doing a whole lot to undermine and defeat it, both the 1st and 2nd amendments are targets as is our country's sovereignty which he is trying to subvert to the UN.

Isn't that treason?

Make no mistake, I'm very apprehensive about the upcoming election. The current Socialist regime can promise the world to the "give me more" electorate, and pay for it out of our pockets.

What I do think is that an attempt to suspend elections and "crown"King Barak will result in an active Revolution. It would not be the first Totalitarian Regime toppled in recent memory.

I think he did it because he can't afford to hang Eric Holder out to dry right now, the guy knows too much. It also makes me think that by Barry doing this, there's a whole LOT more to the story they are covering up. I doubt we will get any answers until sometime after the election...and if Barry wins, we'll probably never hear the truth about it.

If we had more reporters in the mainstream media instead of repeaters (people who only repeat the blather they are fed from the administration, without digging up actual facts), then this thing could blow into a whole 'nuther Watergate or similar. But instead, they choose to downplay & ignore as usual. Last Friday when Barry announced that he was giving a free pass to illegals 30 & under, one reporter in the room had the stones to ask if this was constitutional...I was amazed! Of course, he has since been pummeled by others in the media as racist & a bigot.confused Of course he is racist, what else would one expect from these idiots?

Scary stuff, I think we already are seeing "King O" at work, if he can't get Congress to do his bidding or if it runs against the Constitution, well, he does it anyway one way or the other!

I would not bet on the second Revolutionary war happening either...many Americans are...well...how did we get this far in the first place? It scary how many people either work for government, or get some kind of assistance from the government.

It's obvious but it is hard to believe.  IMO, at best he doesn't care about the constitution or the oath he swore; at worst; he feels he has to subvert it and America.

My belief is that Fast and Furious was a back door attempt to get gun control.  Adam Shiff, a California Democrat, was on Fox News tonight.  He was almost arguing that all the guns that went to Mexico would justify new gun control laws here.  It was amazing.  His comments were along the lines of the Republicans are going after Holder to distract from the flow of illegal guns to Mexico.  To me he wanted to ask for more gun control but he had been coached not to mention it.

Exerting executive privilege appears to be a desperate attempt to distract voters from the bad economy or a desperate attempt to cover up serious wrongdoing.

On the martial law worry, I suspect he would like it to happen.  He may even try.  But to make it stick, he would need the military and I just can't see the military, not even the National Guard, backing him in such an obvious subversion of democracy.  Nope, he would have to have guns removed from the population first and he can't get that done in the next four months.

I'm actually hopeful he won't be re-elected.  I think we are seeing the last of a bad president.

95XL883  & Supermagfan  I am in 100% agreement with you.  Yes BO would like to be Dictator for Life and the only thing that makes sense with fast and furious is to justify more gun control.  Remember before this program came to light how the Administration was pushing for stronger laws to keep guns from crossing the Mexican border.  The president of Mexico even testified before Congress about guns coming from the US.  All this as BATF was forcing gun store owners to sell guns to drug dealers.  I believe the fact that Mexico was not aware of our government pushing gun over their border and the fact that BATF made no effort to tract the guns proves the gun control reason for fast and furious.

Our Administration is an accessory to murder.  and guilty of breaking many of there own gun control laws.  R S

F&F was most certainly a shot at passing gun control laws, no doubt about it.

I had forgotten about Mexico's Prez testifying, you're absolutely right. I recall thinking that if he was genuinely concerned, he would simply put his military on his border to halt the problem. Instead he was just thumping his chest & pointing fingers in front of congress & our congress was sheepishly letting him continue on.

Although, if he did put his military on the border, the gun traffic may likely increase due to the amount of corruption in their police & military.lol2

Think about this:  who pays the military?  Bread and butter on the table is a mighty powerful control.

This is a very scary, but yet very real topic.  I could not agree with Eric any more though.  As much as I would like to believe our country would stand against such actions, i spend alot of time just observing people of all walks as I go through daily life and traveling around and I just do not have the confidence in our nations mass populace to be resolved at anything no matter how high the cost.  Sorry to sound so grim, but it is my observation..

I hate to sound too pessimistic but after having spent 15 years in the Navy during the Reagan/Bush/Clinton years, I see little hope coming from the military. They are drawn from the general population, and they too become more liberal with each generation albeit a little slower.

A preacher I knew asked once, "Why are we always shocked when the lost act like they're lost"?

Considering our choices this election cycle I see dark clouds on the horizon, but if the current illegal occupier loses...  well, you better be well supplied and fortified. The sheep won’t appreciate the possibility of losing their free meal ticket.

As much as I try to be positive and not prejudiced, living in AZ I do fear the possibility of a race/class/ethnic conflict involving violence someday.  The nation is already so divided and the current administration is perpetuating the problem by deepening and widening the chasm through blatant polarization.  I try to keep an open mind and respect the beliefs of others, but every passing day my objectivity is challenged by Obama and his... words escape me... gang of nitwits?

Tomorrow, a decision will most likely be handed down at the Supreme Court level regarding AZ immigration law.  I'll be very interested to see the outcome.

By the way, I shop at one of the stores which sold guns to the agents.  The guys are very cool and, as far as I know, they were not negatively affected by the fast and furious shenanigans.

The AZ immigration law got fed at least part of a "crap sandwich" today.

We are becoming "the Land of the Outrageously Taxed, and the "Home of Anyone That Can Sneak In".

The next hurdle is the Affordable Health Care decision probably due in the next week.

Don't forget!

Bush claimed executive privilege 6 times......Eisenhower 44 times!  Obama just once til date.  And just for the record.... this presidential term has been the most favorable toward gun legislation in 40 years.  For those of you who weren't old enough to remember, that was back when the NRA was not a propaganda machine, but a true non-profit educational organization that taught the fun and safety of the shooting sports.

Just a thought
