Maybe because I live in the northeast (about a 90 minute drive from ground Zero) this is not new to me. I support freedom of religion, along with all of our other Constitutional Rights, but I cannot help but be bewildered by the effrontery of any group that wants to build a mosque at this location. In America, the right exists to do this, but I have to ask "Why Here?". Are the people behind this so blind to the sensitivities of the overwhelming majority of Americans, or are trying to enflame us?
Build your mosque someplace that is not so sensitive to me as an American Patriot, and I will respect your right to worship as you wish. The people who devastated, and continue to devastate, so many American lives now want to build on the modern focal point of American Patriotism, a shrine to the religion that empowers their hatred for us?
The contempt for the sensibilities for all Americans that the supporters of this kind of effort shows needs to be a very clear message to us all, and I hear that message very clearly.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I am not so sure I agree with the videos assertion that the intent is to show the world/USA/Muslems that they achieved a goal and will now build on our ashes. That IS what seems to be occuring but I don't think that it being presented that way by the builders.
I find it sad and depressing, but not worth fussing about. Be a shame it if got hit hit by a plane or a load of fertilizer, seems to be a common occurrence in that area so they shouldn't be surprised if it happens. Just saying...
