As I am a proud owner / collector of Dan Wesson revolvers I thought it appropriate to display the same with the use of a personalized license plate here in the Commonwealth of PA. I was requesting: DW-357. I received a call from the bureaucracy yesterday asking what this represented, and when I told her all about the gun, its history and how beautiful looking it was she said they would not approve my request because "guns represent violence" and the state of Pennsylvania does not approve violence. Agh! I wrote an email to Rep. Casey saking him to look into it for me. People are violent not guns. Oh well, maybe not a big deal her on the DW Forum but I thought you would be interested in this topic.

It definately is that big a deal jaggman - you're a firearms collector, they have no right to censor a service that is (optionally) provided to all other citizens. By the same token, they probably do have guidelines so bad stuff (profanity) dosn't get out there - but maybe it's time to give the guidelines a little sanity check...
Contacting your rep. is a good idea, but also contact your State Senator.
and keep us posted.

Jaggman, since we share the same state I thought i would share that theri is a personalized plate in our town that has 375H&H on it. Wonder if that is a birthday or something? My guess is the guy likes BIG Rifles. Maybe you should try 7445VH10?

SMF,
BIG rifles huh. Your suggestion is one too many characters. (7 max) When this is over I'll post my plate on DWF.

They have no right to ask that. If it's not profanity, or hate crime related or sexist, it's not their business. That is a crock.
I have my own personalized plate, related to my favorite shooting past time. My older Blazer, but I have the same plate on my Trailblazer.
