Some people think the government is stockpiling billions of rounds in anticipation of an insurrection. The trigger could be a financial collapse or international crisis. In any event there seems to be plenty of ammo out there, just maybe temporarally in the wromg hands. Keep practicing.

There is an incredible amount of panic and hysteria in the shooting world about the US Government (via the Department of Homeland Security) buying up ammunition to deny it to American citizens.

It's all CRAP!

When you consider that the least available (and least lethal) ammunition in the general marketplace is .22 lr, how can government IDIQ (Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity) contracts possibly affect .22 lr?

The government of Barak bin Obama is monumentally screwed up and dysfunctional, but they are not messing around with our ammunition supply. They are absolutely polluting our currency, international integrity, and our Armed Forces.

The continuing ammunition shortage is driven by supply and demand, hoarding, and price gouging

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

+1 what Steve said. Millions of people new to firearms are buying ,shooting and stockpiling thousands of rounds. That's billions of rounds of new demand.

This has been discussed on other boards....short story... did ya notice Sdbullion,

thee who gave the story, has 7.62 ammo, AE & Tula for twice the going price ?

Hmmm.....seems like some of the price gougers can't seem to return to "the norm"

so they might "crack a shot into the herd"
