Hello to all:

I have a dismal prediction on all of this.  As you know, the sequester will be coming to any city near you. I suspect the effects will be blunt and almost immediate.  This is how I believe it will play out:

The American electorate will blame the Republican party on a failure to cooperate with the President. Regardless of the economic reality of continued spending and how it effects us in the long run, the majority will want their transfer payments and will go along with the President on this.

This does not bode well for the Republicans in 2014 when the mid-term races come up. Because of this and the continuing campaign by the President, the likelihood is that the House may fall back to a Democrat majority. The Senate may even experience a supermajority not unlike the one seen after the 2008 election.  With these predicted numbers, you can see where this is going: expect a concerted attack on the 2nd Amendment and an increase in Federal regulations against guns and gun owners. Senator Feinstein may get her way.  All "assault weapons" will be either severely restricted or banned.  There might even be an unprecedent house-to-house voluntary and then mandatory search and confiscation for any and all weapons, ammo, and magazines deemed to be illegal, brought to you by a Federalized National Guard in concert with Federal agencies like the ATFE, FBI, Homeland Security and the like.  The state may become involved if they have equally restrictive state laws reflecting the Federal statutes.

As for our own Dan Wessons, we may likely see a restrictive licensing procedure sponsored by your ATFE.

Not a pretty picture, is it? We can avert this by continually checking against these idiots who want to spend our country into oblivion while eviscerating our 2nd Amendment rights. FWIW. DW41F.

DW41F,

Not far off of my prediction made a few times last year in the Forum.  A few different twists you have brought to light, but about the same result.
