After "Black Tuesday" I decided to begin advocating strongly for support for the NRA. If you're not a member, please join.
In addition, my personal policy (starting with the pistol I bought today) is to donate 10% of the purchase price to the NRA. Amounts to less than two boxes of ammunition, but every gun purchase I make helps support my right to legally own firearms. No other organization I know of can better protect our rights, and our rights need protection more than ever.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

I think this is a very good idea. I was reading on other sites where folks are joining the NRA after Tuesday's election. Also on that site they were suggesting folks get involved with your Pro 2nd Amendment Groups in the state you live in.
I live in Virginia where I'm very fortunate to have favorable gun laws compared to California and Illinois.
We have instant background checks and no waiting period. However you can only buy one handgun in 30 days unless you have a CHP.
So folks join the NRA and specifically give money to the NRA-ILA arm. The NRA is a no profit educational group but the NRA-ILA if I'm not mistaken is actually the lobbying arm.
