Another load of BS:

"Most of the scientists who were publishing relevant articles were from the fields of criminology, economics, public policy, political science and public health."
Asking like minded people to confirm your point of view has nothing to do with actual science.

What load of crap, I can't believe someone actually writes an article like this and thinks they're doing "scientific" work. He in fact states what it is he's doing, polling:
"So I decided to determine objectively, through polling, whether there was scientific consensus on firearms."

"To preserve liberty, it is essential that the whole body of the people always possess arms and be taught alike, especially when young, how to use them."

Middlecalf is correct. That is polling , not science. One of my favorite quotes of all time is from Samuel Clements. "There are lies, Damn lies and statistics. " Another favorite, an Ole Dog original, is " liars figure and figures lie."
People that kill themselves can do it many ways. Should we outlaw cars because folks leave the car running in the garage. Or outlaw garages. Ban Tylenol because enough will do the trick. The Romans used a hot bath and a knife. Let's ban them both. I could go on forever. Regardless of the risk of suicide or being a victim of your own gun, the ability to protect your safety and liberty trumps every other consideration.

According to the Center for Disease Control, in 2012, 10,322 people were killed in alcohol-impaired driving crashes. Where is the outcry for legislation to reduce the consumption or outlaw alcohol. Oh that's right...I forgot about the millions of dollars states take in as a result of liquor taxes.
