I mailed the CT required registration paperwork to make me the "legal" owner of

-A very standard configuration AR

-5 14 round magazines for a 9 mm S&W M-59

-10 AR magazines that accept over 10 rounds

I was the legal and law abiding owner of these items for years, and I wanted to continue owning them, so I bowed to the approaching deadline and compromised my Constitutional right and avoided becoming a felon on 1/1/14.

The former passengers on the "Short Bus" are now driving the bus screwy

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.

Steve, good for you. Don't let them intimidate you. I handled a Sig AR .556 pistol with a 71/2" barrel the other day. Wow! Loved it . Can carry it concealed if I figure out what to wear. A long leather duster maybe.

Unfortunately, Connecticut has intimidated it's gun owners so thoroughly that my guess we are in the top 3 of most restrictive states

I always knew your were special and that one day you would be a passenger on that little yellow bus......First place

To the paranoid people who check behind shower curtains for murderers:

if you find one...what's your plan?

If they drive as well as they uphold the Constitution wear your seat belt, oh wait they don't require seat belts on school buses.

Guess it's not for the children after all.

Tomorrow is the anniversary of the Sandy Hook tragedy.

Connecticut has worked very hard to punish and restrict the legal shooter, and it has succeeded in that achieving that objective.

The Mental Health issue is still totally unresolved, there is no Serial number or clearly defined "evil features" aspect to "Mental Unhealthiness", so many tragically afflicted citizens continue to be lost and drifting in our society.

But our CT citizenry at large is much safer now because:

1) I can only put 10 rounds (instead of 14) in the magazine of my 9 mm S&W M 59

2) The TacSol barrel on my Buckmark  .22 target pistol is now pinned to not accept the suppressor that I don't own, and if I did it would be a registered NFA item

3) My 30 and 20 round AR Magazines are now registered so of course they will never be used for an illegal purpose, no matter how crazy I may become.

4) Mini 14 is not restricted in CT, AR is. My guess is that CT legislators are so firearms savvy that they know that only Jeff Cooper could actually hit a person sized target with one (relax guys, I'm just kidding here) so there's no reason to ban them too.

But deeply disturbed and mentally ill people can still freely walk the streets of MY town on day passes from the State Mental hospital half a mile from downtown. They don't even need to walk the half mile, the state runs vans and buses to downtown.

From 1990:

http://www.nytimes.com/1990/03/31/nyregion/killer-of-girl-9-in-connecticut-is-ruled-insane.html

Admittedly a pretty old incident, but the Hospital is still there, and the patients are still walking the streets of my town every day.

Adam Lanza was a sick, twisted little bastard, his family knew it, and we failed to protect the Sandy Hook students and teachers from him.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
