I know there's still a large anti-Taurus following out there so you guys can pass right on by this one. Here's one of the first ones off the line for this year's intro. – the mod. 992 .22lr / .22mag DA convertible. The cylinders swap out with a push of the button – a real slick set-up. As soon as I find a way to ditch the ugly rubber grips and get a set of targets it will be a decent trail gun.
Harly, I've never been a fan of Taurus based on all the negative information about them on the internet with that being said this model makes me want to give them a try.
One of my pet peeves about them (and many other manufactures today) is the use of extra large lettering all over the gun. Wonder how easy it would be to remove on a stainless gun?
Neat gun, let us know how it shoots and holds up.

I don't disagree with you one bit on the graphics. They could have left off the TRACKER lettering and put on a set of decent looking grips and the gun would be a whole lot more tolerable. It's got some potential though (it's the only DA convertible on the market). Good idea about buffing out a SS one – the laser etching isn't very deep but it might be a little tricky to match the finish. I'll check it out when the stainless guns start shipping.

Taurus's biggest problem is a pretty poor Customer Service reputation (deserved or not, they're out there as pretty spotty). I've had 3 Taurus guns, two PT1911's (good guns) and a used .22 revolver that was pretty marginal, and was part of a trade-in on my 722. Actually, the poor little Taurus didn't stand a chance when the 722 came up on the radar.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
