Hi Standard Supermatic Trophy
My Dad used to shoot this at Camp Perry back in the 50's
Colt Commercial Mdl 1911a1 (denoted commercial by the -C in the s/n)
Another one my Dad used to shoot at Camp Perry back in the 50's.
He had it built as a bullseye gun with a NM barrel and bushing.
Originally blued, the finish was about 60% gone, so about 20 years ago I had it refinished in nickel and black phosphate. Later I added the extended guide rod.
A Browning Hi Power Limited Edition 1 of 1000 that I got a very good deal on.

The HS guns deservedly have the reputation for outstanding accuracy, one LGS I visit always has at least half a dozen for sale. Hamden and E. Hartford CT were the sources for classic High Standards, the auto's are real common here, revolvers not so much.
Many years ago I owned a Sharpshooter, and much more recently a Victor. Anyone shooting a classic HS should be advised that it should only be shot with standard velocity ammo, high velocity is not a good idea.
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman "Were is the Self Help Section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
