Here are a pair of Manurhin Special Police F1 revolvers.  These were carried by the French police back in the 1970's.  They have been carried a lot but both have tight lockup and nice triggers.  A close look will reveal a very strong resemblance to Ruger's Speed-Six.

Nice pics!  I don't think I've ever seen a Manurhin before...

Nice guns. I know about the MR73...it was a popular silhouette revolver. I saw a few of them used by the French team at the 1991 Silhouette Internationals. At one time, the Manurhin .22LR was the best rimfire silhouette gun, if you could get one.

I have a 4 page article; write-up on a silhouette MR73.

Unfortunately I cant read French and the article is in 4 Jpeg files Broken Computer, so Google translate would be no help.

Funny the resemblance to the rugers... maybe there was an inside connection between the two...

From what I have read, the development of the F1 was a collaborative effort between Ruger and Manurhin.  The F1 was later replaced by the MR88 which still looks like a Ruger, and I suspect has a lot in common with the GP100.

Interesting!!

I'll bet Ruger sold the investment casting to them and they did the machine work.

Those are pretty cool. Did you buy them here in the states, or have them shipped from France?

I found them collecting dust in the display case of a local dealer.  They sat in that case for about a year before I bought them.  One of'em has been my holster carry gun for quite a while now.

I like that, the bidding starts at $3000 & his first line in the description sez "Make me a reasonable offer ..." What, $3K is not reasonable for that gun??rofl

The Manurhin PPK pistols used to be a fairly common find on the auction sights.  That is the first gold plated one I have seen.
