I found a nice Ruger Super Blackhawk 3 Screw 44 magnum and just had to have it. The serial numbers shows it was made in 1972. It is in excellent condition for a 51 year old gun.  It does need some Ruger grips though.

Interesting gun. I’m not very familiar with Ruger’s; is the vent rib an add on by Ruger or someone else?

The vent rib is aftermarket, I forget the brand name. Steve should be able to tell us, the brand is usually roll marked/stamped into it near the rear sight. It does improve the gun's looks, IMO.

Congrats Steve, that one will be a fun shooter! range-time occasion

I had never seen one either and was told it is an aftermarket item made by Polychoke. I need to look up that company to see if I can find one for another BH I have.

Nice old Ruger. I've got several 40+yr old Ruger DA/SA that are still looking good and going strong. I've no doubt they'll outlive me.
