Sometimes I get the urge to shoot something a little heavier than the .38 Specials that I can barely afford right now, and this Old Model Uberti is where I usually land. The .45 Colt is a great cartridge, and standard pressure loads feel plenty stout out of this little guy especially with the Bird Head grip. Of course I rarely splurge and dig into my meager stash of .45 Colts (they're outrageously expensive these days), but it sure is a fun shoot when I do!IMG_0949-1.jpgImage Enlarger

Ten. Can’t afford to shoot any more than that until I can find some replacements. In the meantime I’ll just have to be content to shoot .38 Special out of my DW’s. The attached photo is of my other Uberti which gets about the same occasional range time. Also in .45 Colt. IMG_0651.jpgImage Enlarger

A pair of beauties! drool

So the Uberti's aren't just eye candy, do they shoot nicely as well? I have thus far been kinda leery of buying one because I assumed they looked better then they function. Especially the Dragoon style guns. Maybe I'm assuming wrong?

They are definitely purty, no getting past that.

I can only speak to the two that I own, but I’ve found these to be very nice shooting revolvers. Are they as smooth as a Colt or S&W? No, yet they deliver where it really counts; excellent lock-up and great triggers which makes them very accurate!
